Hacktions

To fill the gap nobody talks about

"Can you send me the API specs by Wednesday?"
"Follow up with Emma on the quote."
"Confirm availability before we send the proposal."

These and many others are typical action items that do not deserve an Asana task, a Jira ticket, or any other tracking platform you already use. These actions are too small, too cross-functional, too fleeting for that.

Basic task managers like Outlook Tasks or Google Tasks are too individual, too simple, and do not integrate across your productivity stack.

Thingz Hacktions fill that gap. A hacktion is an action that needs someone to act: an owner, a due date, a priority and a status.

On its own

For many teams, hacktions are enough to track the actions and tasks of a project. No setup, no templates. People respond from Teams, Slack or email.

Next to your task manager

Keep Jira or Asana for the formal work. Use hacktions for the small, cross-functional actions that do not deserve a ticket, and keep them visible in one place.

Assign hacktions from wherever you work.
Connect your existing productivity tools.
People can act or respond from wherever they are.

Create

From wherever you work

A Hacktion has an owner, a due date, a priority, a status, comments, tags and more. You create it from wherever you already are, thanks to the multiple available integrations.

Microsoft Word

Open the add-in. Highlight an action item. Assign it. Done.

📧

Microsoft Outlook

Assign a follow-up action without leaving your inbox.

Carson

Shared AI for your whole team

Unlike personal AI tools that help one person work faster, Carson knows what everyone is working on across every plan and every boundary. Anyone can ask, at their level, from Teams, Slack, the web app, or the AI bubble. Carson also follows up on its own, with reminders and check-ins that are configurable and non-intrusive.

What are my open Hacktions this week?
What is at risk on the Lumaris plan?
Who has not responded in the last 48 hours?
Give me a full update on the Pulse Integration project.
Remind Lucas about the API specs.

Role-based access is enforced. A Project Member sees their own items. A Project Manager sees everything across their plans. An Admin sees the full picture. Stakeholders have limited access.

Carson reviews

Agentic follow-up

Carson does not wait to be asked. It follows up on your behalf. Accessible from Microsoft Teams and Slack. Stakeholders have limited access.

Solicited

Ask, get an answer.

Ask Carson for a status update at any time. It answers immediately based on the current state of your plans.

Unsolicited

Does not wait to be asked.

Carson proactively monitors open Hacktions, identifies what needs immediate attention, flags what is drifting, and checks in with the right people at the right time.

For Members

Carson tracks only the Hacktions assigned to you. It helps you stay on top of your own commitments without missing anything.

For Project Managers

Carson tracks everything across the plans you own. An automatic, real-time view of where your team stands. No status meetings just to find out where things are.

Memos Beta

A new insight from a client call? A piece of feedback worth sharing? An idea that should not get lost in a Slack thread?

Create a Memo and share it in Thingz. Loop in the relevant people, set an importance level, and make sure the right people know what you know.

Unlike a Hacktion, a Memo does not require anyone to act. It requires someone to know.

Currently available in the web app. Teams, Slack, Office and browser extensions coming soon. Read receipts coming soon.
